Meet Floyd!

This handsome boy is Floyd, an 8 year old black & tan coonhound.  Floyd has spent the last 6 years living at a boarding facility with an irresponsible owner who basically just forgot about him!  Then when her business was closing she said if a rescue didn't take him she was going to have him put to sleep.  We could not let this happen to such a wonderful boy.  He is now in a foster home waiting for a family to call his own.  

He is a good dog, knows some basic obedience commands and he is crate trained and house trained.   Floyd is an active energetic boy for being 8 years old.  He acts like a much younger dog!  He also loves back scratches!

Floyd is a scent hound and he loves to chase chipmunks and squirrels.  He does not do well with cats.  A fenced yard for him to run around in would be ideal for Floyd.  He also loves going for walks.  He will need some training on leash walking as he does like to pull and sniff everything!

Floyd did not have any exposure to young children during the 6 years he was penned up.  We are not recommending he be placed in a home with children under the age of 12.

Please consider giving this boy a second chance with a family who truly loves him.   Floyd would do very well as an only dog and the center of your universe.

All of our dogs are fully vetted.  They have been vaccinated, altered, microchipped and heartworm tested and on prevention.

LOCATION:  Floyd is currently in foster care in Victoria Harbour, ON.  With the help of volunteers, transportation to his forever home can possibly be arranged.  Don't let distance deter you!
